Wind Tunnel Complex

The Wind Tunnel Complex at Texas A&M University is home to five world-class wind tunnels and one icing tunnel, offerring a range of speeds and unsteady/steady flows. Both the Klebanoff-Saric Unsteady Wind Tunnel and the NASA-Langley Mach 6 Quiet Tunnel are run by FRL personnel. See the links below to learn about the other facilities in the complex.

TAMU National Aerothermochemistry Laboratory, Dr. Rodney Bowersox

This facility houses the:

  • High-Reynolds-Number Blow-Down Tunnel, Mach 3-6
  • NASA-Langley Mach 6 Quiet Tunnel
  • MURI Tunnel, Mach 7

Oran W. Nicks Low-Speed Wind Tunnel, Mr. Jorge Martinez

NASA-Glenn Icing Physics Flow Laboratory, Dr. Edward White (link coming soon!)

Wind Tunnel Speed Ranges

All six tunnels are located within a close proximity to one another, allowing researchers to share resources and expertise. In addition, the Flight Research Laboratory flight testing is directly across the street at Easterwood Airport.
